First Drive In The EXA! Sunday, September 13, 2009

Well tonight the long awaited first drive happened! We pushed the car back and turned it around so we could jack it up and put it on stands to put the CV's back in. While we were pushing it arround, alot of the gearbox oil came out so we had to put more in. Man that stuff stinks like shit! So after that we connected up the rear sway bar and then we were all good to go! Only took it for a short drive on private, closed roads where the car was trailered too as we wouldn't have driven it on a public road ;)

So yeah we finally got to drive it for the first time! Only thing we found wrong was that the clutch was slipping a bit but it's nothing that can't be fixed. It was super loud because the exhaust ended just after the cat while we are still deciding how to go about fixing ours! But the car ran awesomely! We are really pleased with how everything turned out! Everything has gone to plan and worked really well! Nothing major along the way has gone wrong and even the gearbox change went smoothly. Theres a few small things we need to do before we go for a RWC like install the rear right speaker, fix the rear suspension (the struts do not have EXA springs, the paint code does not match up), Fix the dent, Fix possible ground problem? (Headlights get stuck on, wipers wouldn't turn on while we were driving), Get a new or fix the tumbler for the ignition (it can go past start and key can do a full circle)

So it's not long now at all until hopefully we can get it on the road! Hopefully we will be able to make the 5 hour drive for the Sydney EXA cruise on the 17th or 18th of October!
