So today the front speakers arived today so we put them in. These are the speakers in the door and are 6.5". The holes that were already in the car for the speakers were just a bit to big (they all needed to be a tiny bit closer inward to match up with the speaker holes). So we ended up drilling 3 small holes in each of the mounts on the door and screwing the speakers in that way. Again like the head unit, the speakers had so be soldered on. After soldering them in and mounting them in place we found that they don't really fit with the covers that came with the speakers so we had to use the covers that were over the stock speakers (or in our case, covering no speakers!). So now the fron 6.5" are in. We tested them out and they sound great and look good too, although to see them the colours you have to take the cover off or put the speaker ones on which shows a bit of the body. The 6x9" speakers for the rear should be getting here later on in the week so we can get them in and finally have a sound system in the car! It's all coming together now! It's nice how the small things make us realise that we have come a long way haha
So heres a few pictures of the speakers installation / installed as well as the head unit that we put in the other day. The head unit is just a Radio / CD head unit but the sound from it is pretty good and well its better than no head unit! Should do the trick nicely! We'll also get some black touch up paint and touch up the covers to the stock speakers.
