Removing Rear Struts Wednesday, September 2, 2009

I was away in Sydney for Tuesday and Wednesday so Vinnie worked on the Rear Struts. It took him and 2 others 4 hours to remove and replace the rear struts for a few reasons. Mainly because the rear sway bar underneath the car had to be taken off in order for the rear struts to be taken off. The back struts were completely screwed. The springs on the fronts were terrible and the ones on the back were even worse. The springs gave no tension on the struts at all. The ride was completely stiff and it almost seems like the springs were cut while they were still on the car. Theres a few photos that show how bad they are. When they were unbolted they just fell apart. Not only did the springs flop arround and just fall off but the whole strut was completely screwed, being able to be pushed up and down with almost no resistance! Theres a photo there too comparing the strut that was in the car and one of the replacement Munroe shocks that will be put in. So heres some photo's of the process:
